Founder and Director of The Nest
Jennifer specializes in the treatment of women and children. Her practice includes general women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, labor and childbirth, postpartum care, and holistic pediatrics. Jennifer is pioneering Childbirth Acupuncture in Chicago; she actively attends labors and births in both home and hospital settings, providing women with safer, natural birth options. In addition, she is one of few acupuncturists who specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents.
As a practitioner of Chinese Medicine and a mother of two (one hospital birth and one home birth) she is passionate about working with women preconception through postpartum and beyond. She knows the importance of helping women feel supported, informed, and in control of their choices so they can fully experience the miracle and abundance inherent in this life- changing process.
Before founding The Nest, Jennifer worked in public health for seven years where she implemented and managed integrative medicine programs throughout several community health centers in Chicago. Jennifer brings years of extensive clinical knowledge and experience to her practice and understands the significance of blending Eastern and Western medicine. In addition to her work in private practice, Jennifer is currently on faculty at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago where she is a clinical supervisor for their public health externship.
Jennifer began her study of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 1996 and completed her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago.
Jennifer has received advanced, postgraduate training in Reproductive Health, Pregnancy, Labor & Childbirth, Postpartum Care, and Pediatric Acupuncture. She has studied with many great teachers of Chinese Medicine including Mike Berkley of the renowned Berkley Center for Reproductive Wellness in New York City, Debra Betts, Giovanni Maciocia, Claudia Citkovitz and Efrem Korngold . Also, Jennifer has studied abroad with internationally renowned author and Pediatric Acupuncturist, Julian Scott.
Kimberly Zebick, L.Ac., Dipl. Ac., Dipl. CH., MSOM
Kimberly is a Licensed Acupuncturist and is Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She received a Master of Science in Chinese Medicine (MSOM) from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Her training included rigorous study in Acupuncture, Herbology, and Nutrition. She began her training at the New England School of Acupuncture in Watertown, Massachusetts.
Kimberly has advanced training and certification in fertility, pregnancy, reproductive health, gynecology, childbirth acupuncture and advanced maternal age. She has studied with such renowned acupuncturists and leaders in reproductive medicine as Randine Lewis, Jane Lyttleton, Brandon Horn, Wendy Lu, Claudia Citkovitz, Mike Berkeley, and Debra Betts. Kimberly specializes in gynecology, women’s issues, pregnancy, and fertility medicine.
By utilizing her knowledge of both Western and Eastern medicine, Kimberly sees herself as a bridge for patients to understand their options relating to their reproductive health and overall wellness. One of Kimberly’s primary initiatives is patient education. She believes by empowering patients to take responsibility for their wellness through lifestyle and diet, clinical goals and long term health can be achieved. Her enthusiasm about healthy eating and Eastern Nutrition and their role in achieving balance in conjunction with acupuncture and herbs is contagious.
Previously employed at Harmony Health, Inc. in Chicago, Kim is excited to collaborate with Jen, Kathleen, and Shelbi at The Nest. She is thrilled to foster a truly nurturing environment that resonates with peace and wellness as part of this integrated center for women and children. She believes passionately that woman have the capacity to find balance and health through Chinese Medicine.

Shelbi Bailor, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac, MSOM, LMT
Shelbi is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She holds a Masters of Science in Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, one of the nations most rigorous training programs for Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist. Her decision to study Chinese Medicine was informed from her experiences traveling in Asia and enhanced by her lifelong desire to help people.
Shelbi’s training began at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine where she studied Shiatsu and the foundations of Traditional Oriental Medicine. The bulk of her training was in San Diego, at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She has studied under some of the nations most well known practitioners of Chinese Medicine including Bob Damone, Z’ev Rosenburg, and Alex Tiberi. Shelbi has studied women’s health and infertility with an internationally known professional, Robin Tiberi. She has extensive training in Japanese Meridian Therapy, a very gentle and energetic style of acupuncture.
Shelbi’s journey to The Nest has come as a culmination of training and interests. She has had training to become a doula and has worked as a prenatal massage therapist. She has had advanced training in using acupuncture during labor and delivery. Shelbi’s firsthand experience with pregnancy, birth, and motherhood have been her most helpful training ground. The delivery of her daughter at a free standing, midwife operated, birth center in San Diego remains the most inspiring of all experiences. She is delighted to be working with the Nest. Shelbi wishes to help all women have healthy, safe, and empowering birth experiences.
